The Approach

The goal of this blog is to provide some wine tasting notes that stay away from the snobbery of most of the pros. I'm by no means a professional, and therefore my commentary should be taken with an entire shaker of salt. You'll notice that I like most of what I taste, and complain about very little. I have virtually no formal wine training, just a "Science of Oenology" class as an undergrad. However, I know what I like, and I can tell what I taste.

Wine, once a drink of the upper class, is becoming more and more accessible to everyone thanks to producers like Charles Shaw, whose "Two Buck Chuck" has become Trader Joe's claim to fame. Companies such as WineConnect make terrific Wine Kiosks. Their Wine Kiosk allows you to pair wine and food, and makes it much easier to remember that delicious bottle you tried last month. It's a fantastic tool for the beginning wine drinker.
