A few recommendations

WineConnect makes terrific Wine Kiosks. Their Wine Kiosks allows you to pair wine and food, and simplify the process.

Try the Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel. Not only is it delicious and full-bodied, but you can find it for around $11 a bottle. It goes really well with hearty pasta dishes with red sauce or all varieties of red meat. I've had it with Asian food and steak, and it paired well with both.

I also enjoy Bonny Doon Vineyard's Critique of Pure Riesling. I think the California winery may have over-produced this wine, as you can order it for $6 a bottle on their website. Before this sale, I believe it was selling for around $20 a bottle. It's drier than most rieslings and has a bit of a bite. It is crisp and is very versatile.
